Finally .. test of the new wheels with spring tires mounted … by mtb.ONE™

Yet again this weekend summed up at 2 rides along familiar trails. The Big change was the drop of the Ice Spiker Pro tires in benefit of the Continental Trail Kings. These were fitted on the brand new XM 481 rims with 240s hubs from DT Swiss. Any good then?  Yes they felt awesome, fast, stable and very good drag up the hills. Probably it would have felt similar just getting rid of the spikes only so we’ll see a little later in the spring if they really deliver. 30mm rims with 2,4 Trail King (They are wide) leaves a few millimeters of clearance in the back swing so going wider might be an issue ;). The Mountain King 2,4 actually leaves a bit more clearance so it will be some trials before choosing the “summer” tires. By the way I really like the sound of the ratchet-star hub…
